Charlene Kelly

Charlene Kelly

Charlene is a dynamic and enthusiastic performer who inhabits her roles completely. Her talents were truly demonstrated in the role of the hapless lover Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Other performances with Blue Teapot include the narcissistic Mayor in Fool Me?, Camille in 84 and a poet in the May Day Bealtaine spectacle. In Sanctuary, Charlene played lover Sophie to critical acclaim.

Add to her credits numerous street parades, Charlene is a wonderful spokesperson for the work Blue Teapot does on a public level most notably alongside Kieran Coppinger in the RTE 1 documentary Somebody To Love aired in February 2014.

Charlene plays Sophie in the original stage play and now feature film of Sanctuary (2016/2017) to huge acclaim and was nominated in the Best Irish Film Performance in The Irish Times 2017 Ticket Awards.

From 2018, Charlene has focused on a burning ambition to become a writer. From initial ‘blank page’ workshops with dramaturgical support, Charlene has since produced her debut stage play ‘Into the Dark Woods’ which currently remains a work in progress until theatres safely re-open again.

In 2022, we hope for audiences to see the fruits of Charlene’s great work as a playwright.
