Bright Soul

Bright Soul

Founded in 1996 from within the Brothers of Charity Services Galway, Bright Soul is Blue Teapot’s longstanding project initally born as a simple creative outlet for adults with moderate intellectual disabilities.

Today, it maintains that ethos rooted in arts participation, social inclusion and places an emphasise on fun while practising performance skills.

“My brother is autistic and Blue Teapot has given him an opportuntity to express himself in public. There’s been many times where I’ve seen him perform and act in ways that I’ve never seen him communicate before” (Sibling)

Bright Soul runs for twenty weeks within the year and caters for a variety of ages. Some of the original Souls still attend while younger participants have used this experience as a stepping stone in to the three year Performing Arts School.

“The whole atmposphere is very relaxed, caring and is a strong learning environment.” (Parent)

As an introduction to the performing arts, Bright Soul members get to demonstrate skills publically at least once a year and team up with members of Blue Teapot’s day programmes. An annual highlight is the Christmas Caberet as well as participating in St.Patrick’s Day Parades.
